Walking the dog in the hills above my home we came to a fork in the trail. We’d not been this way before so I hesitated—which trail would he choose? I let him make the decision of where we should go but this did not last long. Because—and if you have dogs you know this—he prefers follow my lead rather than decide himself, every fork in the trail led to confusion about who was leading whom. Amusingly, this reminded me of the famous Berra quote "…when you come to the fork in the road—take it." The painting of rabbits and their dilemma about which sunset to follow was done shortly after.
